Dress-Ups - Beautiful Girls!

BrinLi loves to dress up!! She wanted Brooke to put on her prom dress and so they gave us a fashion show. Then she had the neighbor girls come over and play and they did it again! She loves to play with the girls! Sailor, Haleigh, and Delaney love to dress up too, so they have a good time together. BrinLi is making a lot of new friends. She gets along with everyone really well!

Brooke, BrinLi, and our neighbors, Haleigh & Delaney

BrinLi & Saylor Perkins. This is only one of about 10 different outfits they put on! They were dolled up all day!

BrinLi is kind of stingy when it comes to hugs and kisses, but not with Brooke! Brooke always gets them. They are buddies!!

The First Day of School, 1st Grade

BrinLi loved her new desk! She started right on her work writing her ABC's.

BrinLi and her teacher,
Mrs. Johnson

Braxton & BrinLi waiting to go to school. BrinLi thought they'd never open the doors. She's holding a necklace that she had made for her teacher, who she already loves!! She was very excited to give it to her.

She was so excited for school. She loved it!! Her teacher is Mrs. Johnson who is wonderful!! She has visited her, made her a welcome book, brought her balloons and candy. BrinLi could hardly wait. At 7:00 a.m. she had her back pack on and said, "Let's Go"!! It was a long hour waiting to go for her. She is like a little sponge. She just wants to do everything all the other kids do and she loves to learn. She has been practicing her name and can write it very well now. She knows a lot of her ABC's and a lot of numbers and math. She is learning words very fast and we are communicating better. She is very patient with us!! It is so exciting to see her progress so fast.

Brothers, Brothers, Brothers!!!!

Braxton & BrinLi showing off her ABC's she has been so excited to work on! She did her whole name right above her on the
fridge, BrinLi Xia Feng Bowring. She was very proud!!

The boys love to play with her and tease her, but I'm not sure who gets the worst of the teasing, she can sure hold her own. They all love her to death, and she loves them. She is always wondering where they are when they aren't home.
Brittain getting her geared up to be a Jazz fan!!!

Playing at the Park with Grandpa Lovell

BrinLi loved the swings and the slide. Grandpa was pushing her and she had him catch her at the end of the slide. She got a kick out him when he got on the swing. She sure loves her Grandpa's and Grandma's, it's like she's known them forever, they're just finally reunited!!

Motorcycle Mama!

Pretty in Pink

All dressed up with cousins!

Brooke & BrinLi

BrinLi loves Brooke!!  Brooke is so busy with work, volleyball, getting ready for school/college classes that we don't see her too much.  BrinLi sure lights up when she gets home.  She likes to sleep in her room with her sometimes.  We are so glad we took Brooke with us to China so they could have some good time together and get a good jumpstart.  They are buddies!!

BrinLi & Braxton

Braxton & Brinli were dressing up.  BrinLi loves her Cinderella dress & wand, and Braxton was doing a magic show so BrinLi was the assistant!  They get along great!  Braxton already liked noodles, but he eats them a lot more than he used to.  They both love ice cream so they made ice cream cones together.

Fwd: Everything is so new and exciting!!

BrinLi loves the trampoline!! She is so happy and fun! She laughs and has so much fun. Her personality is so cute!

Chopstick lessons

All the cousins got chopsticks from China and they wanted to use them to eat their noodles with BrinLi.  She loves noodles, even for breakfast most days!!

Fun with the Cousins at the County Fair

BrinLi loved the county fair.  She played on the blow up's and we even entered some of her pictures that she did in China and she got 4 blue ribbons.  She made her first $12 dollars and we went and started a savings account for her with her winnings.  The cotton candy was a hit and she sure loves her cousin, Ashlyn who piggy-backed her around all day long.  Everything is so new and exciting for her.  It's so fun to watch her.

Finally All Together in the US

Wow was it good to get home.  BrinLi sure was excited to see her brothers.  She loves them.

motorcycle 2

She wanted one ride and then she was done with that. She wanted to DRIVE after that! She tried to push Bobby off the bike and go. We didn't let her do that, but let her steer (sort of) and run the throttle. She only wanted to go as fast as she could. She wouldn't hardly slow down and loved hitting the bumps. After a while she got a little more used to the throttle and that she could let it off a little, but it was so funny! We couldn't hardly get her off the bike. We're going to have to get her a peddle bike and let her learn to ride it before we totally turn her loose on the motorcycle! LeeAnn said she's knows what we'll be doing for the next long time for family home evening (and I wouldn't object).

motorcycle

Well I've already been telling everyone that BrinLi couldn't fit into our family any better if I'd desinged her by hand and then we went to the mountain with the motorcycles. I found out that she absolutely LOVES to ride! WOW! We were all so surprised! She hadn't even wanted a ride on my street bike a few days earlier, but on Friday my dad was giving rides on his new goldwing and the other cousins all got rides, so she wanted to have one too. Then yesterday we had all the bikes, including the little ones out, getting them ready to ride and as soon as she saw the little 50, she pointed to it and then to herself. She ran right into the house and got LeeAnn to come take a picture of her sitting on it.

We were supposed to leave to fly out to Hong Kong from our hotel at 9:20, so we were all packed up and ready to go, and at 9 we got a call from our guide, Kelly telling us that she just found out our flight was cancelled and the only one today to Hong Kong wasn't until 4pm, but that if we wanted to ride the train that we had to leave in 5 mintues. We decided to jump on the train. We had made arrangements and gotten directions yesterday to get to the temple from our hotel. We were bascially on our own once we left Guangzhou. They told us that the temple was about a 40 minute bus ride from our motel.
Anyway, once we got to the train station, it was like a big fancy train ride, not like a little commuter train that I expected. We had to scan our luggage and do security just like the airport. We some stuff in one bag that they had a fit over and it took quite a while to get through, with security passports etc. but once we got on it was real nice. It was about a 2 hr train ride. We went through some country side, but saw a lot of buildings on the way.
When we got to Hong Kong, we didn't have any idea where we were. I coulnd't find a pay phone for ever. I wanted to call the mission home/temple and talk to some one. I had found a map and it looked like we were only 2 train stops away from them, but didn't know how far away the train station was from the temple once we got there. They have an automated system and I had to try about every extension on thier menu before I got a hold of someone.
Long story short, we finally ended up finding a taxi with a van that could haul all of us and our 90 suit cases and we made it.
As soon as we got there BrinLi wanted LeeAnn to take her picture in front of the water foutain that was there. I think she might have thought we were at another hotel. But President Goo was waiting for us, he's the mission president here right now. We went into the waiting room and we had him explain a little bit about Heavenly Father and how we pray to him and the temple and how families can be sealed together forever in it. She was really quiet and he couldn't get her to say much, but I think something clicked with her. It was kind of cool, she really started speaking more English words after we were there than she has before. I wonder if she got that point that we really are going to be together forever and maybe she wanted to try a little harder? I don't know, it might really just be a coincidence, but it sure seemed like there was a change with her after we left.
Anyway, that was the main thing that we wanted to come to Hong Kong for and we got it done. We had to haul our bags all over the place and find our way (with some help from above), but it was worth it. We are excited to come home tomorrow! We fly out at 11:45 and get to Salt Lake at 3:38 PM on Sunday. We are excited to see everyone again and be home in our own beds!
